Welcome to my website!
I am a PhD Candidate in Economics at Trinity College Dublin, currently visiting Columbia University, sponsored by Professor Gemma Dipoppa.
My research lies at the intersection of political economy, environmental economics, and the economics of crime. I am particularly interested in how criminal organizations are influenced by climate dynamics and how they interact with ecological systems. More broadly, my work explores the determinants of green voting and support for environmental platforms, as well as the underlying drivers of criminal behavior.
In autumn 2024, I visited the Center for Economic Research on Governance, Inequality and Conflict (CERGIC) at ENS Lyon, sponsored by Professor Mathieu Couttenier. Prior to my PhD studies, I obtained a MSc in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University and a BSc in Economics, Markets and Institutions from the University of Bologna.
Here you can learn about my research, teaching experience, policy contributions, and have a look at my CV. You can also get in touch by emailing me at cavalloe@tcd.ie or follow me on X or on Bluesky.
I am also founder and co-organizer of the Young Irish Economists Seminar Series (YIESS).
